THE IDEA BEHIND THE PROJECT "OLYMPIA BACK IN TIME"
Hello! I'm Achilles, and I grew up right here in Olympia. Like many people, I love this place, but when I visited the Archaeological site a few years ago with friends, we all struggled to picture it. With most of the magnificent temples and statues now just ruins, it was hard to truly imagine Ancient Olympia in its glory days.
So, I thought: "Wouldn't it be incredible if we could actually see it?" That's when the idea for a Virtual Reality reconstruction hit me.
I dove deep, spending a year reading historical texts, scientific papers, and research on dimensions and materials to ensure I recreated everything as accurately as possible. When I finally put on the VR glasses, the hard work paid off. It was truly like stepping back in time.
Standing for the first time inside the Temple of Zeus, looking up at the 12-meter (43 ft) tall statue of Zeus, the feeling was unbelievable.
Now, Olympia Back In Time is my dream brought to life! My wonderful wife, Vasia, and I are thrilled to offer you this experience and share the same feeling of amazement!
